Changing Asset IDs

This article should describe how to change an asset's ID, which are helpful for identifying assets. For more help with naming assets, see Asset Planning & Naming. 

Changing an Asset's ID

1. From the left sidebar, select Maintenance and then Assets.
2. Select the asset you would like to edit. If you cannot find your asset, check your settings and filters. For more help, see Viewing and Filtering Assets.
3. At the top right, select Action and then Change Asset ID. 
4. Type in the new asset ID. 
5. Select Save. The system will automatically update and switch all records containing the old ID with the new one.
