Search Functions & Filters

Modified on Mon, Aug 19 at 2:51 PM

There are multiple ways to filter and view the search page for assets, work orders, parts, and more. While there are more specific articles for each search page, such as Filtering and Viewing Work Orders and Requests, this article will focus on the general functions.

Below is an example of what the search page should look like when selected.

The top bar is what we'll be focusing on this article, as they include all the filter and viewing icons (status icon/three grey lines, search icon, funnel icon, and settings icon):

Filters

There are two ways to filter in the search page: by status or by form fields.

Filtering By Status

You may filter by status by selecting the three grey lines at the top left next to the current viewing status, commonly "Active" or "Open".

Common statuses to filter by (for assets, work orders, parts, etc) include:

  • Active
  • Inactive
  • Requests
  • Approved
  • Open
  • Scheduled
  • Completed

Filtering By Form Field

Filtering by form field is more specific than filtering by status and generally narrows down what will appear as it is based on certain properties. You can filter by form field by selecting the filter icon at the top left, in between Search and Clear.

You can clear filters by selecting Clear or search directly by the asset/work order/part's name by using the Search icon.

Common form fields to filter by (for assets, work orders, parts, etc) include:

  • Name
  • Location / Department / Line / System
  • Type
  • Account
  • Availability or Status
  • Asset Charged To

Viewing & Layout

There are two different layouts that SOMAX provides: table and card. Please note that the option to switch to card view is only available when viewing work orders / requests and parts.

Within every search page, however, there is the option to edit your columns. This will allow you to decide what information, or which form fields, you wish to see in the search page and where.

Table View vs Card View

Below is an example of table view:

Now for card view:

Editing the Form Fields

You may edit what information is shown in the table columns or in the card by selecting the wheel/settings icon at the top left of the search page.

The split screen shown above will appear. Use the left side and the checkboxes to select/deselect which form fields will be shown. Use the right side to reorder them - select one form field and use the Move Up or Move Down buttons to move it left/up or right/down.
