Frequency Types for Preventive Maintenance

SOMAX offers you several Frequency types for your PM Master Jobs. See Creating a PM Schedule

  1.  Scheduled From Last Done + Frequency: A work order is created the number of days in the Frequency field past the date on which the job was last completed (or canceled). Multiple active work orders won’t be created.
  2. Scheduled From Last Due + Frequency: A work order is created for each time period, (the number of days listed in the Frequency field), that has passed since the last scheduled date. When the new work order or orders are created, the last scheduled date is updated. Multiple work orders may be created.
  3. Excluding Days of the Week: If you’ve set up your preventive maintenance detail record to generate work orders with Exclusion Days the frequency must be set to 1, (a one-day interval), you have the option of excluding certain days of the week. That means that you can specify, for example, that daily maintenance work orders won’t be generated for days that occur on weekends. Or, if maintenance should take place only on weekends, you can exclude workdays of the week.
  4.  Scheduled Same Week and DOW Each month: This type would be used to generate a PM work order on the same day of the same week each Month. For example, if the last scheduled date is the second Friday of a month, the next work order will be generated on the second Friday of the next month. The frequency for this schedule type is in Months. Therefore, a frequency of 3 would generate a work order on the second Friday every three months from the last scheduled date. Multiple work orders can be created.              Note: You probably won’t want to schedule the next due date in the fifth week of a month, as not all months have five weeks. In months without a fifth week, a work order wouldn’t be generated.
  5. Scheduled Same Date Every Month: A work order is generated on the same date each month. For example, if the last scheduled date is January 11, the next work order will be generated on February 11. The frequency for this schedule type is in Months. Thus, if the last scheduled date is January 11, a frequency of 6 would generate a work order on July 11. Multiple work orders may be created.
When using Same Week DOW You probably won’t want to schedule the next due date in the fifth week of a month, as not all months have five weeks. In months without a fifth week, a work order wouldn’t be generated.

When using Same Date Every Month You probably won’t want to schedule the 28 Day of the Month as not all months have over 28 days
