Creating a PM Job

Modified on Thu, Aug 22 at 5:07 PM

A PM Master Job is the full, comprehensive blueprint that includes information on the maintenance such as:

  • the work that must be done, such as specific tasks or instructions
  • the trigger, which can be:
    • a regular calendar schedule
    • a meter reading
    • on demand
  • the duration

There are two methods to create PM jobs: using PM Library Procedure and Describe What You Need.

PM Library Procedure is a pre-existing procedure that will automatically fill out what needs to be done. See Adding an On Demand Preventive Maintenance Procedure for more help.

Describe What You Need is a procedure that does not yet exist where you manually describe what needs to be done.

This article should describe how to create a PM Master Job. Once you create the job, you can start adding its schedule, which will determine when the job occurs and how often. For more help with this, see Creating a PM Schedule.

Creating a PM Job

  1. From the left sidebar, select Maintenance, then Preventive Maintenance, and then Search.
  2. Select New Preventive Maintenance at the top right.
  3. Select the method you would like to use: PM Library or Describe What You Need
  4. If you selected Library, select the procedure you would like to copy and select + Add. If you selected Describe What You Need, fill out the job ID, schedule type, description, and duration. You may also select its type. Select Save or Save & Add Another when you are done. The chart below shows descriptions of these form fields.
  5. The new PM Job should be created, and you will immediately be directed to the PM Overview Page.
