SOMAX Punchout Overview

SOMAX Punchout is available to those clients that have the SOMAX Procurement Module. SOMAX Punchout allows you to create Purchase Request and Punchout to the Vendors Website to retrieve part prices and return the parts and prices to the SOMAX Purchase Request to create Line Items. This is available for both Stock and Non Stock parts.


The SOMAX Punchout process will automatically match any Stock Item that has the same Manufacturer and Manufacturer ID that the Vendor uses. If you have not previously set up your Part cross reference with the Vendor, Manufacturer and Manufacturer ID then SOMAX will create the Part cross reference for you once you match the Part.


For Non Stock Parts you simply enter the same information you would on any Purchase Request Line.


Note: Please contact your Vendor for the appropriate Training Material for Navigating on your Vendors Website, choosing parts or creating quotes.



Steps to Punchout:


  1. To perform Punchout you must first contact SOMAX for SOMAX to enable Punchout for your site. For our Enterprise customers this is enabled on a site by site basis.
  2. Contact your Vendor and get the Punchout credentials for yourself. This is normally based on a client by client basis but your vendor will let you know
  3. Once you have the Vendor Information open the Vendor in SOMAX and complete the Punchout Configuration for the Vendor
  4. Set up your Stock Parts for Auto Match
  5. Create a Punchout Purchase Request
  6. Begin using Punchout
