About Labor Scheduling

Modified on Tue, Aug 20 at 10:35 AM

Once you've finished Approving Work Requests or Creating a Work Order, you can start scheduling.

The SOMAX system provides multiple ways to schedule and assign (or reassign) work orders:

  • directly in the Work Order's information, good when scheduling one at a time and easy to access the entire work order's info beforehand
  • through the Labor Scheduling Forecast, which also shows all upcoming work orders in a calendar view so you know what other maintenance might be occurring
  • through the Daily Labor Scheduling module, which is like the labor scheduling forecast but works one day at a time

All three methods serve the same purpose; they simply have different features depending on what other information you may want when scheduling. This article will briefly help navigate you through them.

In the Work Order's Information

Scheduling through the work order search is the simplest method and good for when you want to review your work order's info before assigning it.

Labor Scheduling Module

The Labor Scheduling Module is designed to schedule multiple users at the same time. It is perfect for when you may want to see what other maintenance work is going on at that time. An easy way to do this is, in calendar mode, is shown below.

See Labor Scheduling Module for more help.

Through the Daily Labor Scheduling module

The daily labor scheduling module is very similar to the labor scheduling forecast - it just allows you to narrow your view to one day at a time.
