Work Order Modeling can be used for a variety of reasons.
- Duplicate a Work Order
- Create Multiple Work Orders from the same base Work Order to be charged to different Assets
The information that is sent to the Work Order created using the Model Function is shown in the chart below.
Information in the Modeled Work Order
Field | Description |

Work Order ID | A New Work Order ID is Created for the Modeled Work Order |
Description | Description is copied from the Original Work Order |
Charge To | Charge To is copied from the Original Work Order |
Charge To Name | Charge To Name is copied from the Original Work Order |
Department, Line, and Area (Asset Groups 1, 2, and 3) | The Asset Groups that you have created are copied from the Original Work Order |
Creator | Is set to the User who initiates the Model function |
Down Required | Down Required is copied from the Original Work Order |
Job Plan | Job Plan is copied from the Original Work Order |
Priority | Priority is copied from the Original Work Order |
Shift | Shift is copied from the Original Work Order |
Account | Account is copied from the Original Work Order |
Source Type | Source Type is set to Model |
Status | Status is set to Approved |
Approved By | Is set to the User who initiates the Model function |
Type | Type is copied from the Original Work Order |
UDF fields | Enterprise Only Any UDF fields on the work order are copied from the Original Work Order |
Tasks | Tasks are copied from the Original Work Order |
Estimated Costs | All Estimated Cost are copied from the Original Work Order |
Activity - Create | Is set to the User who initiates the Model function |
Activity - Approved | Is set to the User who initiates the Model function |

To Duplicate a Work Order using Model
- From the Work Order Search Page Select a Work Order
- From the Work Order Detail Page Select the Action Menu
- From the Action Menu Select Model
How to Create Multiple Work Orders for different Assets
Create Multiple Work Order using Model and Assign to Multiple Assets
- From the Work Order Search Page Select a Work Order
- From the Work Order Detail Page Select the Action Menu
- From the Action Menu Select Model
- Select Edit from the new Work Order
- Select the Charge To search and select the new Charge To
- Select Save from the Edit Page
