Welcome to the SOMAX Family!


By choosing SOMAX, you have made the decision to revolutionize maintenance at your facility. Now let's talk about getting the system up and running. Your steps to success are as easy as A, B, C!

 

Adding the Basics


The basics for SOMAX are Users, Equipment and Work Orders - here's how you add them:

 

Let's start with adding a user.  A user is a person that will be doing work in SOMAX.  This will be your Mechanics, Maintenance Supervisors or Parts Personnel.  

  

Logging into SOMAX using a Mobile device is simple too. If you experience issues logging in, try logging in to the Web Version of SOMAX.  If you can successfully complete that log in, you can review the following article Unable to log into SOMAX with a mobile device with strong Wifi signal.

 

Depending on the size of your facility this next step could be a big one, so let's start with your critical pieces of equipment.  You can Add Assets using the Web and from a Mobile device. 

 

Now that you have some equipment in the system we can start writing work orders.  Log into the Web application, click on the plus sign, and add a work order. It really is that simple.  Using a Mobile device offers the ability to add a work request, or unplanned work on the fly.  Recording your work has never been easier.

 

Building on the Basics


Now that you have the basics. Let's look at managing your work.

 

Work requests can be submitted by people within your company so long as you have set up as Work Requesters in the system.  They can submit a work request using the Web.

 

Once the work requests are in the system, a Supervisor or Manager can approve or deny those requests using the Approval Workbench.  Approved works can be scheduled directly to a mechanic to make the repairs.

 

You can also use the Labor Scheduling module to schedule work orders to mechanics and leads.  The Scheduling Calendar offers a different view of how work orders can be scheduled to your maintenance team.

 

Preventive Maintenance Master Jobs and Schedules are the heart of any CMMS.  Adding a new PM Job - and then Creating a PM Schedule is quick and easy in SOMAX.  Be as thorough as you need when you add your tasks to the Master Job, as we have plenty of room.
