Soft/Quick Refreshing your Browser

A soft refresh is the fastest and most commonly known way to reload your browser. Unlike the hard refresh, while it does refresh your browser, it may not load the most recent version of the page.

To perform a soft refresh, simply select the reload icon (circular arrow) at the top left of the browser in between the browser search bar and the forward and backward arrows.

Hard Refreshing your Browser: Clearing the Cache

A hard refresh clears the cache on your browser for a specific page and may be necessary to reload a specific page within SOMAX properly. This is because a hard refresh forces the browser to load the latest version of the page. You can perform a hard refresh on any page being displayed in SOMAX.

How to Hard Refresh on Chrome:

  1. On your computer, press CTRL + F5 or press Command + Shift + R.
  2. The screen may go blank for a short time while reloading, which is perfectly normal. After the refresh completes the page will reload.

Note: This is not the same as completely clearing your cache please see the Article: Clearing Cached History in Chrome

How to Hard Refresh on Safari:

  1. On your computer, press Option + Command + E.

How to Hard Refresh on Edge:

  1. On your computer, press CTRL + F5 or hold down CTRL and press Refresh.
