This section explains what a browser cache is and why you should clean (refresh) your browser's cache. This should be done from time to time to ensure your SOMAX system and computer are functioning properly. While it not a must, it is always better to make sure you are opening and running the latest versions, screens, and procedures as opposed to outdates or past product releases.
Why does my browser use a cache?
Browsers use a cache to store temporary copies of website data, like images and scripts, to speed up browsing and reduce network traffic. When a user revisits a website, the browser can retrieve these cached files from its local storage instead of downloading them from the server again. This significantly reduces loading times and improves the overall browsing experience
Why Should I clean my browser's cache?
Several factors can contribute to browser cache issues. Outdated browser software, corrupted cache files, conflicts with extensions, and network problems can all cause issues. Additionally, server problems, a bloated cache taking up storage space, and stale cached data can lead to problems like slow loading, incorrect displays, or website glitches.
- Using an outdated browser version can lead to compatibility issues and hinder the browsers ability to properly utilize the cache
- Files can become corrupted. This will cause the browser to struggle when accessing the website from the cached data
- Browser Extensions or Plugins can interfere with caching mechanisms and lead to issues
- Problems with your internet connections can corrupt your browsers cache
- A browser cache that has become excessively large can slow down your browser and use valuable storage space
- Outdated web pages stored in your browser's cache can lead to incorrectly loading of web pages
- DNS Caching problems can cause stored pages in the browser's cache to not load or load very slowly
