Assets that do not have any history may be inactivated in the system. If history does exist, then the asset can be inactivated. Inactivated assets will not appear in the Tree Lookup or Asset Search pop-up. Example : Inactivated Assets cannot be selected when writing a Work Request.
Click Maintenance
Click Assets
Select an Asset ID from the Asset Search page
The Asset Detail page will appear
Click Actions | Inactivate
The Confirm Delete pop-up will appear
Click Inactivate
Asset with no history will be deleted and you will be returned to the Asset Search page
If History does exist you will receive the following message:
Click OK to Inactivate the Asset ID
