Editing Work Requests

This article describes how to edit a work request's overview information.

Editing a Work Request

  1. From the left menu, select Maintenance, then Work Order, then Search.
  2. Ensure that you are in the work request view by selecting the three grey lines at the top left and then Work Requests. For more help, see Filtering and Viewing Work Orders/Requests.
  3. Select the work request you would like to edit. This should direct you to the work request overview page. 
  4. Scroll down to the work request form fields and select Edit.
  5. Edit the work request form fields as needed. For more information about each field, see the chart below. Please note that you may only edit the fields in white, but not all of the ones in grey. Most of the fields in grey are updated automatically.
  6. Select Save.



Work Order Form Fields


FieldDescription
StatusThe status of the work request. For more help changing status, see:
ShiftWhat shift or time of day you scheduled the work order for.
TypeType of maintenance needed. Possible options can be created in the work order Lookup Lists.
DescriptionDetails about the work you would like completed.
Down RequiredWhen this is Checked the Asset must be Down to perform the work
PriorityThis is the degree of risk associated with the asset you would like the work to be done on and the potential consequences there may be if the work is not completed.
AccountAccount the work order is charged to
Charge ToThe asset ID you would like the work to be done on.
Charge To NameThis is the name of the asset and updates automatically when you edit the Asset ID under the field "Charge To"
RequiredDate the work order is required to be completed by
Source TypeThe SOMAX type this work order was created from Ex: PM or Work Request
Scheduled Start DateThis is the date you scheduled the work order/request for. For more help, see:
Scheduled DurationEstimation of how long the work order will take.
Failure CodeType of Failure that occurred for this work to be performed
Actual Finish DateThis the date of completion. For more help, see:
Actual DurationHow long the work order actually took to complete.
