This article describes how to inactivate and reactivate a part. In SOMAX you cannot Delete a Part you can only Inactivate or Reactivate a Part.
Please note that there are multiple restrictions that may occur preventing you from inactivating your part. Some of these include if:
- Your on-hand quantity is greater than 0
- Your order quantity is greater than 0
- Your request quantity is greater than 0
- The part is involved in a Purchase Request/Order
If your part meets any of the above restrictions, you will not be able to inactivate.
Inactivating a Part
Note: This can only be done when viewing Active Parts
- From the left sidebar, select Inventory and then Parts.
- Select the part you would like to inactivate by clicking on its Part ID. If you cannot find your part, check your filters/settings. For more help, see Filtering and Viewing Parts.
- At the top right, select Action and then Inactivate Part.
- Select Yes to confirm.
Reactivating a Part
Note: This can only be done when viewing Inactive Parts
From the left sidebar, select Inventory and then Parts.
- Select the part you would like to reactivate by clicking on its Part ID. Make sure you are on the status "Inactive" by selecting the three grey lines at the top left. For more help, see Filtering and Viewing Parts.
- At the top right, select Action and then Activate.
- Select Yes to confirm.
