The Actual Duration and Labor Records on a Work Order are stored in different places. If your system is set up to Automatically create a Labor Record for the person completing the work order when a work order is completed. Then the Labor Record is created using the Actual Duration to populate the time for the Labor Record. This is a one way process, meaning that once you enter the Actual Duration and complete the work order a Labor Record is created. Editing the work order and changing the Actual Duration does not change the Labor Record it only changes the Actual Duration.
If you system is not set up to Automatically create a Labor Record for the person completing the work order when a work order is completed, then the user must create a Labor Record for time spent on a work order.
The Actual Duration of a work order should be the amount of time that is spent from when the user begins work on the work order until everything is complete including clean up and returning parts to the storeroom. This is often more time than was spent on just restoring the equipment to operational condition.
If more than one person worked on the work order then the additional person(s) labor should be entered on the Labor Tab by the person completing the work order. This will create labor records for all of those involved with completing the work order.
To change the Labor Record you need to actually edit the Labor Record (Not the Actual Duration). To Edit a Labor Record go to the Work Order Detail Page->Select Actual->Select Labor then select the Edit Icon to edit the labor record. You can also Delete a labor record if required.
