We often get questions on how to enter Labor Hours and Downtime Minutes, and why is Labor in Hours and Downtime in Minutes.

Labor Hours is the amount of time that a User has worked on a Work Order to perform the work outlined in the Work Order. This time is Entered in Hours or fractions of an Hour. In most cases, entering the time in increments of 15 minutes provides an accurate tracking of the time consumed in performing the work.

  • Enter 0.25 for 15 minutes, 0.50 for 30 minutes, 0.75 for 45 minutes, 1.00 for 60 minutes

Downtime is the amount of Time that is normally associated with the duration the Asset is not able to perform it's intended function due to a Failure or Planned Maintenance.

There are many differing rules on when the Downtime needs to start and when it ends. These are very Client specific.

In general it means the time the Asset Failed until the repair allowed the Asset to come back on line or the time an Asset was taken out of production to perform Planned Maintenance until the Asset came back on line.

Downtime is entered in Minutes to allow for a more granular recording of the Downtime event.

For 15 minutes of Downtime enter 15 there is no conversion required.
